Honestly, having the base level cap just barely over 100? That's a bit weak. Not to mention it makes the "longvity" of a character realitvely short and might also (if it already isn't) be boring to some players. Plus, 114 is an odd number to end on, no? Why not try for something that sounds better and will keep people interested at least a little longer? Like.... 125? 150? 200 would be pushing an extreme (just a bit), unless you have some special MVP monster packed away somewhere that would require such a level. =D

The job level cap seems kinda good... Maybe boost it to 75 or 80 for kicks, and/or to balance with higher base level caps. I don't think all skill can be learned with this many job levels, but it at least lets you taste everything and figure out a good re-skill according to your tastes.

On the subject of jobs in general, what exactly is the point of rebirthing, if not to just make you waste more time? And I know everyone is going to throw comments like, "Reborn characters are better!" and "A 2nd job sucks compared to a Transcendant" or other such stuff... =P

Well, the way I see it, it's just another method to make you spend MORE time leveling up to 99 again, then go beyond. Now, I'm not saying to do away with it altogether, but maybe provide an alternative to becoming a transcendant other than rebirthing? A difficult test would be rather good. Like have a clone produced of the aspiring player (and don't say it can't be done, I've seen it done on an UNALTERED RO server, so DO NOT LIE!), and they have to fight themselves. If they win, give them the proper amount of stat points and pass them on to the Transcendant 2nd job. If not, then just have them go for the normal route.

Another thing about rebirthing, is the leveling speed. Now, think about this logicly for a moment. You reach the peak of your power as a normal character. Then you get reborn (as yourself, only a little stonger than when you first started) and go to achieve the strength of a Transcendant. Wouldn't you level up FASTER after Rebirth? Not significantly faster, but maybe by just 3 or 5%? Because, if you're being reborn, only to walk the path you walked before (essentially), wouldn't you re-learn everything faster than you originally learned it? And plus, I'm just talking the 1 to 99 leveling. Beyond 99 is an all new ball game to your character, so it's more learning. Just a thought. =P

GM Team
yeah thats what i mean... im just lazy

lol yea i mean i think i remember it being 254...cause id never lvl up to 255 xD 254 for all eternity!
GM Team
**sigh** You Devilish newbies. Time for the old-timer to set things straight.

The level cap went from:
255
245 (for legits, 255 for GMs)
115 (allegedly)
114 (what it actually was)
99? (one can only hope)

Now, there may have been something between 254 and 115, and I just can't shake off the feeling that it was 150. (I swear, I think it actually was 150 for a while.) Anyway, the issue with having characters over 99 is that builds become less and less important the higher the level cap is. What fun is it if everyone has 99 all stats? Hell, even now builds don't matter as much as they do on iRO. That's why we have a "low" level cap, to give more of a challenge. Besides, we're not a high rate server, we're a low mid-rate.

yea it was 150 bro that was when the advance classes didnt have sprites yet xD
GM Team
There was a 150, I remember cuz I never reached it before it wiped XD
GM Team
I remember reaching it a month before the wipe. dry

rebirthing gives you more skills

Um, until when? Oh yeah, not until your SECOND Transcendant Job! Novice High and your High First Job give you nothing new; it's pointless. =/
GM Team
Okay, this is what makes no sense to me. You're complaining about the game being too short, yet you're complaining about advanced classes and how it's useless leveling to them because you don't receive any skill/stat boosts. Stop contradicting yourself, especially when it's your own thread.

hmm, i sure think that maybe we can make advance class lvl faster?^^ as we have a max lvl of 114 instead of 99, its kinda difficult for some classes like creators to lvl. when they are around 80. afterall we are a private server, we strive to improve from the original RO.we shud allow ideas and discuss them hence implementation^^

making the max level 150 seems like a wonderful idea. i think that it will be fun and challenging. if they do it i think there shoudl be soem quests involved and mabe cut the xp so that is not something ppl will just do in a few hours. if the max level is 150 i think that u shoudl actually have to EARN more so than the previous 113 levels. maybe setting experience to 1x after level 114 or something. then mabye add soem quests that makes it where ur stat points can max out at 120 after u get to level 150. so that u hve a place to put all those HARD earned points.

but then again, y complain. there are many other servers that have what ur lookin for. its far easier to find what ur lookign for than to ask EVERYONE to change =/

other servers actively practice customizing classes and their skills. but like i said, "other server". he should go find one he is content with.

hmm, i dont quite like 150. becos you wud see mages instant casting in PvP without much dex equipments. thats gonna be kinda unbalance. in case you didnt know, its 3 times harder to lvl a transcendent class, if u make it 1x... *faints* that wud turn devilish into something like Anima where u are lvl-ing more than half the time. i dont want a Maple-Style-Ragnarok where lvling is all u do daily. =/

is there much anything else to do. well, we do have more events nowadays i guess. maye the exta levels could add more hp, flee, hit, and perfect dodge. only. just a lil boost to seperate the extra dedicated players from the rest. and it wouldht have to be a grind fest to get those extra levels. maybe just something to do when ur mobbing for moolah or someting extra to gain while ur hunting for that "rare" card or whatever. i dun know.

im content with the way things are. i just thought ide ad m 2 cents to the jar...not sure if it was wanted. rolleyes

Make a Knight and you can probably get it to 99 in 1 - 2 hours (Without help)

If a person gets too strong then partying would be a thing of the past. Ragnarok should at least still be a team game~

Level cap is fine~ Isn't it cool that Devilish is unique! laugh

@Dj
Creators aren't hard to level~ Use your Acid Demo on Lhz 3! It's expensive, but not hard.

its been done before and its far from wonderful...

@seph
i was refering to lvl 70-80 creators =D at around 85-90, u can start going to abyssmal dungeon and then lhz3

but still, devilish is a mid rate server, not a low rate one. ppl come here so they dont have to fight ppl with lvls. if u change 99-150 into 1 rate, then tell me the difference between devilish and the original RO other than being able to get to get to 150. and keep in mind, 99-100 is not a 1day task for many classes if 1x, not to mention 100-150. i wouldn't fancy to play devilish for a month or so just to get my character to the max lvl cap so ppl wouldn't start calling me a noob in PvP. besides, i bet nobody here wants to play only ONE main character(unless u manage to train the whole year with a few characters =O). so in the end, your unique devilish = mad-lvling-or-ure-not-gonna-be-150?

raising the cap to 150 definitely increases your flee and hit rate and etc... but if other's status increases as well, wont that be neutralized? and MVPs become weaker if the players turns stronger.

do not mind me =P i am not trying to bring your ideas down, haha... erm, just thought it defeats the purpose of making devilish a mid-rate server as my opinion goes^^

oh and, if ure talking about raising the cap to 150 without being 1x for lvl 99-150, then devilish will become low rate^^ hmmm =/

What B.S. Creators are one of the easiest classes to level.
