To people who want to change DRO

I'm always reading that some people on this server want a cap on everything... they want to get rid of the MVP arena, put a level 99 cap, lower drop and exp rates, and probably others, but these always catch my eye.
This server is different from any other server (although I think that there could be more out there like DRO) because it is not meant for the lazy person who wants fast levels, its just made for fast leveling and "easier" access to rare items. It's fun because you can be and do what you wanted to do in IRO but couldn't because it's so slow in those servers. The main problem (that I think) for some people is that we have other things to do than play every day for hours, like me. I have to go to college, do homework, and work because I need to help my parent pay for bills, due to the unfortunate problem that I'm poor. I only get to play on Tuesdays and Thursdays (in a computer lab at my college where I d/l'ed it  ) and with this server, I can get to experience the game to the fullest because its quick to level and quick to find stuff. Sure there are other reasons for other people, but this is MY main one that other people may share with me.For the people who wish to change this, Fritz doesn't want to change this, as what I've read from his posts. He likes this server the way it is (even if one of his reasons to change the coding is because he's to lazy to do it ) but the main point is that he isn't going to change this server. If you really want a level cap and drop/exp rate to be normal, go to IRO and pay $10 a month or go to URO. I don't know the url for that site, but fritz knows. I play it too when I have time, but mostly DRO.Basically, if you want to play in a regular free server, go to URO or something because I like this server the way it is. (Even if there is wipes or not, it's still fun!) Thanks for reading my long ass post.  P.S. Don't insult me just because you think my post is flaming on you or something. This is JUST a friendly comment of mine that I wish to point out to those who want to change this server completely. |

Yay, finally someone speaks the truth. Well said, Rufus. I can only agree to that. This server is there for having fun, it's not supposed to be too serious. I always liked the way this server is (and I've played a lot of iRO/cRO/jRO in the past so don't call me lazy). Players who like this server can always play on it, and players who don't like this server don't have to. It's as simple as that.

nice words Rufus, you are right, this server is fun, and is easier to lvl up and find rare things, but that doesn't mean that its a "easy server" because you have to try to find better things, and try to do your best, because the fact its to easy to find some rare things, there are a lot of people that is very strong, and you need to be stronger.
I dont think this is a easy server, its easy to lvl up, thats all. This not make a server easy. This make this server to be more balanced to people that cant play all day long, all days. And i've played in other servers, and iRO, too. if u want a change, make your own change, and make your own server, so you can change what ever you want to change. |

 But yeah... seriously. This server is great. The first wipe, I'll admit to this, I got pissed off a lot. But then I though "This server is nice and quick to get my stuff back. It'll be fun to start my own quest for greatness!" I like this server the way it is and don't want to change it! Thanks Sakura and Arkard for your support! I'm also a college student who suffer big time in college and all the kind the shit.....But...what Hiroshi..the guy that left the server because he doesn't get what he want./and the guy that came up with the change.Basically, he want to test out something new for everyone in devilish. Just a prototype to see if it better. if it not/then the whole idea go offf. But the change is good, then it good for the server. I know that devilish stay the same is not a problem. But it would be nice to have something new. if if if it get better. That alll LoL

Well... some sort of change as in improvements, not downsizing stuff like level caps or drop/exp rates. Maybe that army thing where each GM is a general of a group of armies and will be in a special guild or something... but some change is good, not all.

It won't matter anymore since Hiroshi just quit....on DRO./and all the discusiion are useless now.

i see... well... still, just in case someone else who still plays here wants to change something. This topic should be sticky so that people won't post up other topics saying how much they want to change the server. Suggestions are good, but not drastic changes...

hey i just think it would be cooler if the lv cap was 100 and rates were slightly lowered...then it would be an acomplishment to reach advance class. I would take effort.not like now...now i can become advance class in like 3 hours

Edit* btw what about a little change? like cap 99? nothing wrong with that right.. no real changes only the noobs won't be strong.. like everyone did in the beginning.. rates down like 200/200/50 or (whatever u want)... just a cap 99 would make it much better and balanced cause some jobs are useless... try 2 make a strong Prof or a Bard.. just try it and go PVP u'll see what happens.. but the plan of hiroshi is maybe rejected but they should make a little change because if u look at all the skills more then 50% are useless.. because the other ones are stronger @ lvl 150 ... cap 99 and u'll need them all to :example kill a mvp.. this is a suggestion so... don't hate me...  peace out This post has been edited by Sero on Nov 18 2004, 03:09 PM |

Actually, a lev 99 cap is the same as lev 150 cap. Although lev 150 cap is better because to get to level 99 is quick in this server. But to get to lev 150 makes up for the quick levelin up. It's not as easy to get to lev 150 as you may think. It takes more time. I never got to lev 150... only to lev 110... then I got wiped. So it wouldn't be much fun leveling if you put a 99 cap on. And I don't mean "Why not reduce the exp rate to make lev 99 more challenging!" No... I'm saying that this is fine the way it is. The level cap will unbalance the whole leveling process to a bore. Lets keep it this way! It's unique from any other server! That's why I'm sticking with it! (By the way... I don't hate you...heheheheh) |
