Misunderstanding's Clean-up Crew

Well, folks and friends, boys and girls. Dec. 9th has been full of chaos, head biting, throat slitting, flaming, rear kicking, back stabbing, heart breakage, and so on. In short, Satan took over the forums and threw a party. I feel the need to point out several things that are the main concern. So, gaze upon this post, think it over, and then post. Remember, this thread is meant to be peaceful, so no violence, okies?
Alright, first of all, the new GM team. I realize that there're a lot of question marks and Satan words being thrown at Sakura and I. And, I have to say, the posts we made only made things worse. Mainly mine. Realizing that, we won't repeat the mistakes we made here today. We'll do our best not to screw up anymore than we already have. Count on it. I doubt that'll change the opinions already made about us. I do apologize for any chaos I might have caused on this day since I screwed up way more than she did, and you have every right to think badly of me. Sakura and I are friends, yes, but that doesn't mean that our friendship will effect our actions as GMs. Sakura and I getting the position unfairly. There is a good reason why people think that. There are many rumors floating around about the history of dRO's GM teams, and I assure you, we both worked HARD to be recognized. Sakura has been doing her best as a moderator, and she's been a mod here for the longest time. And I have been learning and doing as much as I can as a GM trainee. That's right, I wrote the essay, took that nerve racking quiz, and so on. So, basically, I can honestly say that our positions were EARNED, not handed to us. If you think that, I feel sorry for you. Old, active GMs being removed from the GM team. I even wonder about that. Some of the best GMs being cut, there appears to be no reason for it, I agree. I thought there was, but when you really look at the big picture, there really isn't. They did outstanding jobs. I honestly want to know why they were cut as much as anyone else here. I do care, I haven't forgotten about them just because I was announced GM. I want answers just as much as anyone else who is concerned. But, I doubt we'll ever get them. So don't expect much. The wiping. C'mon man. When you think about all the duping, hacking, xp exploitations and how the fun was being drained from the game because of this, can you really sit there and say the wipe is a bad idea. Think about it.  Lowering the rates. People have been SCREAMING for this, so I don't think many people have complaints. And if some do, feelin sorry for ya. ^^;; Maru's coin idea. I didn't think about this before, but yes. It IS low that her idea has been taken and then she gets cut. Extremely low. I have to agree 100%. All we can do at this point is ask/demand justice. But flaming, no no. Remember, FLAMING RARELY SOLVES ANYTHING!! Remember that, my friends. Approach the situation in a mature manner, even if you're at wits end. It's hard, I know, trust me. Alright. Whew. I think those are the main reason why just about everyone was cracking skulls. I do hope I didn't miss anything. These are the things I wanted to point out, just so everyone will have a better understand of whats really going on here, and hopefully all the misunderstands will be cleared up somewhat. Again, I do apologize for contributing to the chaos. And for the people who like to skim through things, READ THIS LENGTHY POST!! Chances are you missed some important stuff! Hm, very good post, very mature, well thought out. You kept the big picture in front of you, and thus cared for the collective server of Devilish. Very professional! I think that comment brought out the main question marks we have been having and that have been causing everyone to go after each other.
my points remain: for all those who flamed lexi and me to the high heavens regarding the wipe, we need it. it's good, i am all for it rate drops, come on seriously.... this game is too much of a hack and slash.... a and this is too easy anyway... I strongly urge all other gms to be more "professional" in their way of handling themselves. true, gms are human as well. but we must remember, we are gms because there are qualities in us that makes us better suited for our responsibilities. simply sitting here screaming at each other will not solve anything. we must be calm, work as a team. it's call a GM team for a good reason: in a team, there should be teamwork, colleagues cooperating and supporting each other. As such, the GMs should get to know, and trust each other before even beginning to work as a team. In addition, the players also need to cooperate with the GMs as well, a fact that I found lacking in this particular server. The players just doesn't care. All they care about is their levels, their zeny, their items. 90% of the 1.5 hour that lexi and I took in comments from the player were flames and selfish comments. very rarely do we see a comment where someone respects the fact that there is a reason that the GM team does what we need to do, and offers a few words of encouragement. I mean, we all break out necks for you guys so you don't have to pay that bill for iRO and what not. The least you can do is offer your support for the server. I guess it's too hard huh? Maybe you would like to take this job and see how lovely it is when 60 people floods you repeatedly with flames. We really don't have to do this you know. As I said, even though my tolerance of stupidity and disrespect is very very high, but we GMs are after all, Homo sapiens, humans. think about that next time you want to make a stupid wise-ass comment you players. Today has been tough, yes. We all need to settle down. I lost it myself earlier in the day. and I do apologize. hontouni gomenasai *bows* |

I guess so...all this seems to throw a dark shadow upon me now but okies, I'll accept it. Though I don't know if I can change that much. I'm telling you this just in case. And people won't like me either way, it always has been that way.
Anyways...I'll try to hold back...but be sure that I can't keep inside my opinions and whatnot. If something is too messy, unreasonable or just mean...I'll let you know. But I will try my best to avoid fights. Kimmy, remember what I told you last night. I still think you'll make a wonderful GM, but... *looks at herself* ^^;;;; |

I'm all cool with the wipe and all. Mary. Calm down for a while and just wait. I might yet understand what Fritz is doing.
And I have a comment for Rayster from reading from other thread "First of all, this is a game not a drama theater, every time when you wrote somethin' is all about being mature and serious and all the bull. Especially when you tell other that they're not mature. If you really mature why don't you do it in real life where you put that "mature" in the right place. If you're perfect in your gammar and shit like that. You could use it to make hell da good money around campus rather than use it to deprive little kid. "I want to remind everyone, this is a game. Being a GM on a game requires a certain amount of maturity, which has been lacking in numerous GMs that we had. Especially since the fact that this lack of matuity ultimately lead to these GMs forgetting their responsibilities in Game.
For you players, yes, this is afterall, a game. However, for us GMs, it has become something more than a game. Even though we do not get anything out of this other than flames and curses, this is still out "job", our responsbilities to keep this server up and running so that you, the players, can play it. Have I been immature in the past? I certainly have. Do I realize it and strive to make myself better and more mature? I certainly have. Do I carry this principle and act on it in my real life? I certainly do, otherwise I wouldn't be suggesting this in a digital forums such as this one. Although I will go no more into it, my ultimate point remains. A GM is one who sees the Game as more than a Game. By the way, being mature is not "bull". I will not go into a deep arguement about here. Since that would be inappropriate. |

Absolutely nothing vorse. You get bullshit, people hate you, for doing your job. But sometimes there might be a reward, when someone thanks you or greatly appreciates you for helping them.
I thought being a GM would be easy at first. And well...it IS easy. But when your a GM, the greater mass of the server population dawns on you, and you realize how many idiots and assholes are out there in the server, and thus, sometimes, you can even get kinda sad, and reluctant to go out there and do your job. Punishing rule breakers begin to get annoying, and you will probably get to a point of being a GM where you just don't care anymore and you wanna sit around and make yourself items and run into PVP with god equipment and wail on the players that have been taunting you for so long -.-; But maybe, if you have enough will-power, maybe this will never happen to you. It's an (almost) thankless position. But it's still fun being a GM =D |

Yeah, people have had bad times and good times the past few days...while i gradually become the most hated person in DevRO........It just sucks that mary quit......I'm bored..that's why i posted here......
