Create a new image, 500x 500
Use some grey colors to start ( 747474 foreground; 282F38 background )

Use The Following Filters In This Order:

Filter > Render > Clouds
Filter > Artistic > Fresco
Filter > Brush Strokes > Spatter
Filter > Artistic > Cutout
Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen

Here is what I came up with. Remeber, it's a canopy, not a forest.

Okay, I've been hearing that this doesn't look like a Canopy, but it's basicly the only thing you can do.

I got something that looks kind of different. For one, it doesn't turn out green with those colors, obviously. Second, mine turned out a different texture.. o.O; But overall it's neat. I'll definitely use this in the future. =D
