Welcome to Ians German. I am in German Class and well I'd like to share with you all my notes. Course you could go ask someone fluent in german but wheres the fun in that :-p. Heres some rules.....I guess you could call them.

Es zett(sp) is a ß. Now you see ß in a lot of words all it is a replacement for double SS
so like Heißt would be heisst. Course some words its inproper to use a Es Zett.

Congates(sp) those are words that sound the same as english words. Such as..
Grűn = Green....see the relationship?
another example: der Vater = father or plural der Vater would be der Väter.

now your like what the hell are those dots above mean. If you don't already know.

you have a o u . the dot gives it a invisible E after each so....

ä....ae
ü....ue
ö....oe


for those that need to make a ß <es zett(sp) its alt+0223

Numbers:
0. null
1. eins
2. zwei
3. drei
4. vier
5. fűnf
6. sechs
7. sieben
8. acht
9. neun
10. zehn
11. elf
12. zwolf
13. dreizehn
14. vierzehn
and so on ill had to 20 tomorrow little Po'ed

instead of whats your name our teacher said germans do what are you called and i am called. Along those lines so we have.

ich heiße - I am called....along those lines
wie heißt du - how are you called....alone those lines

oder = or
und = and
aber = but
sondern = but rather
nicht = not

ill have a list of Die, Der, Das words being

Die = Femmine(sp?)
Das = Neutral
Der = Musculant

Those are just diffrent forms of language. If i'm incorrect on the meaning of these words please tell me but I know for a fact its die,der,das.

i have a full table of common english words in der and die ATM also there plurals.

oh oh.. I hope the german grammar reform won't be take back and change to old..

I think the new german grammar is more easier for people, who wanna learn german... the old got too many shitty (and not really useful) rules.

For the beginning.. very well Ian =P I hope you can SPEAK it well too *lol*


ich heiße = mein Name ist = my name is / I'm
wie heißt du = wie ist dein Name = What's your name?

I think this could be a little bit better.. and a little bit more cheaper XD
